Dortmund's Comeback Stuns Atlético, Securing Champions League Semifinal Berth

Borussia Dortmund Outlasts Atlético Madrid 4-2, Advances with 5-4 Aggregate Win

In a thrilling Champions League quarterfinal clash, Borussia Dortmund overcame a 2-1 deficit to defeat Atlético Madrid 4-2 at home on Tuesday. With a 5-4 aggregate victory, Dortmund advanced to the semifinals of Europe's elite club competition for the first time since 2013.

Dortmund's Resurgence

Despite conceding an early goal to João Félix, Dortmund rallied with goals from Jude Bellingham, Jadon Sancho, and Marco Reus to take a 3-1 lead. Substitute Moussa Dembélé sealed the victory with a late strike, sending the home crowd into raptures.

Atlético Madrid, who had won the first leg in Madrid, fought valiantly but were unable to overcome Dortmund's relentless attacking pressure. The German side's victory marks the first time they have reached the Champions League semifinals since facing Bayern Munich in 2013.

Sancho and Reus Shine

English winger Jadon Sancho and German midfielder Marco Reus were instrumental in Dortmund's comeback. Sancho scored a vital equalizer, while Reus netted a spectacular goal to put Dortmund in the lead.

Dortmund's triumph is a testament to their fighting spirit and the exceptional performances of their young players. They now face a daunting semifinal matchup against either Manchester City or Real Madrid.
