Cincinnati Reds Starting Pitcher Carson Spiers Punches Out Ryan Kreidler In Debut Against Cubs
Cincinnati Reds right-handed pitcher Carson Spiers was optioned to Triple-A Louisville Bats on Saturday. The Reds also recalled Spiers from the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League Reds on Sunday.
Spiers made his MLB debut on Saturday, starting against the Chicago Cubs. He allowed three runs on five hits and two walks in 4 1/3 innings, striking out five batters. It was the first time in his career that Spiers had allowed more than two earned runs in a start.
