Donald Glover Explains Why 'Atlanta' Is Ending After Season 4

'It Just Felt Like It Was Time'

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Donald Glover explained why he decided to end "Atlanta" after Season 4. The show, which premiered in 2016, has been critically acclaimed and has won numerous awards, including two Golden Globes and two Emmys.

Glover says that he originally wanted to end the show after Season 2, but was convinced to do a third and fourth season. However, he says that after Season 4, it just felt like it was time to end the show.

"I'm just trying to make sure that I'm always doing something that I'm excited about," Glover says. "And I felt like I had done everything I could do with Atlanta."

Glover also says that he wanted to end the show on a high note, and he believes that Season 4 is the perfect way to do that.

"I wanted to end the show on a high note," Glover says. "I didn't want to drag it out and let it get stale. I think Season 4 is a really strong season, and I'm proud of it."

The final season of "Atlanta" will premiere on FX on September 15, 2022.
